I am not a fan of verticals, they drive me crazy.  And when I saw what was hanging in the new home we just moved into, lets just say I was less than okay with them….

…..this had to be fixed ASAP…..no questions about it.

I heard about this panels at Ikea, so Rene and I made our way over there to check them out, perfect solution, sometime to over the window, let as much or little light in as we want, and I can put up a curtain…..hallelujah…no more verticals to be hangin’ in my home!

These were super easy to put up too.  Anyone can do it.  Of course though like in good ‘ol Ikea fashion, you are somewhat left to figure things out on your own/use the googler….

I simply hung the brackets where the brackets for the verticals where, so that was a huge time saver.  Their brackets are SO simple to hang, serious talk right there!

The tracks only come in 55″ length so we got 2 (Ikea sells saws to cut these….that made me laugh) we cut the one down to size and you use some of the hardware provided to join the two pieces together, like when “two become one”….ahhh cheesy….

Use the provided screws to hold the track to the bracket, put your slider on the track, hang panels, per instructions and ta-da you have new window coverings…

Since we also did curtains for this window, we had to get a single track, this involved the same process as the other, buy two cut one down to size, hang, add track sliders….wait, where are the track slider do-hickie-thing-a-ma-bobs?….yup….didnt buy any, off to Ikea the next day….

….fast forward to the next day, sliding things are on the track, and curtain is hung.

Love the privacy, blocks out a lot of the afternoon sun (and dang mother nature, what did Denver do to piss you off, our whole states on fire and you bring record heat..105, come on, give a state a break)

Can I just say I love Ikea for what its worth.  You really can get some great things there, and if properly cared for, they can last many years to come.  Bravo to you Swedish peeps..

With a little help of a bunch of baskets from Michael’s, my bathroom in completely organized, and you can see the counter to add to the fun!  Woo-Hoo!!
